Common upload issues and how to fix them
If Dropmatico isn't accepting your file or the drag area isn't responding, this article covers the four most common causes and how to fix each.
Drag area not responding
If you drag a file over the canvas and nothing happens, the most common cause is that you're dropping on the wrong DOM element. Make sure the file is directly over the visible drop zone, not on the header or sidebar. If the issue persists, refresh the page. Some browsers occasionally lose drag-and-drop event bindings after extended sessions.
Browser permission prompts
Some browsers ask for permission when you use certain features like the eyedropper or file-system access. If a permission prompt is blocking the flow, grant the permission and retry the action. Dropmatico will not ask for permissions it doesn't need, so every prompt corresponds to a specific feature you're using.
File corruption or partial load
If a file loads but appears broken, black, or partially rendered, the source file is likely corrupted or was truncated during download. Open the file in your OS's default image viewer first. If it fails there too, re-download from the original source. If it opens elsewhere but not in Dropmatico, try a different browser.
Max file size exceeded
Dropmatico caps each individual file at 100 MB. If your file is larger, the upload will be rejected silently in some cases. Check the file size in Finder or Explorer. If it's over 100 MB, compress or downscale the source first in your camera app or a dedicated tool before dropping.
