Picking the right preset for your platform

The Single Image Editor ships with 15 social and creative platform presets, 19 Ecom marketplace presets, and 6 custom dimension slots per session. This article covers which preset to pick, when to go custom, and a few mistakes worth avoiding.

When to use custom dimensions

Every session supports up to 6 custom dimensions alongside the built-in presets. Use them for OG images, email banners, landing-page heroes, ad-network specs, podcast cover art, or any surface not in the social or Ecom lists. Custom sizes export into their own folder inside the Master Set ZIP.

How custom dimensions are saved

Custom sizes live for the duration of the current editing session. When you refresh the page or close the tab, they clear. If you use the same custom size every day (like OG image at 1200 by 630), keep the tab open for multiple projects or bookmark the URL with the values pre-filled.

Common preset mistakes

Three things go wrong most often when people are new to Dropmatico.

  • Picking portrait when the platform auto-crops to square (check aspect ratios before you select)
  • Forgetting to set scale to 2x or 3x when the output is for retina displays
  • Using lossless when lossy would cut the file size by 70% with no visible quality loss on a feed
