How can it stay free
Because there is little to pay for. Dropmatico has no image-processing servers, no storage holding image files, and no compute bill that scales with image processing. The whole tool ships as static HTML, JS, and CSS hosted on Cloudflare. Adding one more user costs the same as adding zero. The cost curve is flat, so the price is zero today. There is nothing to sell because there is nothing collected to sell.
No account, no login
The current setup has no sign-up modal and no email-gated download. Saved settings live in your browser localStorage so they persist across visits on the same device. Want to use it on a different machine, just open the URL there. No syncing across devices because there is no account to sync to.
No catch, no data collection
Image files are processed in the browser using the Canvas 2D API. They do not get uploaded, cached, logged, or sold. There is no analytics SDK reading the contents of your images. There is no third-party script on the page at all. The only data we collect is standard hosting log metadata (IP, user agent, URL path) at our hosting provider Cloudflare, retained for up to 7 days for security and abuse prevention. Privacy is the default because there is no infrastructure on the other side asking for permission.
